Quality Engineer for a Unique Company
Do you want to work with quality issues in a unique industry, in a strong team and in an international company – but with local presence? Then you could be our next Quality Engineer!
ABOUT THE POSITION
At our client just outside Västerås, you will have the opportunity to work in a company that combines Swiss precision with Swedish craftsmanship. Currently, one of their most extensive projects is underway – the modernization of X2000 – and we are looking for someone who wants to take responsibility for quality throughout the project. You will work closely with production, customers, and the team, focusing on both the big picture and the details.
As a Quality Assurance professional, you will be a key person in the quality organization, with a clear line function but a project-based working method. You will lead the quality work for a specific train set – from planning and startup to test runs and delivery. Even though parts of the production take place abroad, the Swedish operation has the overall quality responsibility, and you will be a central contact point between customers, production, and international colleagues.
Unlike classic line manufacturing, the environment is more of a craft – where each carriage is unique and the structure sometimes needs to be created on the spot. We are looking for someone who can see the whole picture, manage complexity, and drive quality issues with both confidence and clarity.
You will be offered
- A dedicated consultant manager during the assignment period, with frequent dialogues and follow-ups for the best possible development
- An inclusive and social work environment, in a strong team with high competence and great responsibility
- An international work environment, but with local presence in Västerås
- Travel within and outside Sweden to the company's other facilities in Europe.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
- Develop quality plans for projects and ensure implementation
- Drive improvement work and quality assure processes, routines, and working methods
- Collaborate with customers regarding quality issues and improvements
- Be responsible for developing inspection and test plans and ensuring that the plans are followed
- Conduct internal audits in projects
- Train project members in quality issues and develop the organization's competence in the area
- Coordinate and lead the various customer inspections conducted in the project and ensure that feedback quickly and effectively reaches the relevant department
- Continuously ensure that data collection continues and that the current quality status is visualized and well visible
WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO
- Has an education in engineering or quality or equivalent experience
- Has at least 2 years of work experience in quality work within the manufacturing industry
- Has experience from a production-related environment – preferably within railways or another specialized, non-linear industry
- Is confident in customer dialogues with experience handling both technical discussions and quality inspections
- Has good computer skills and works effortlessly in MS Office and various system environments
- Has excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, in both spoken and written form
It is a merit if you have
- Experience from a similar working method
- Experience from both smaller, flexible organizations and more structured companies
- Worked in roles where customer interaction and problem-solving have been central
- Experience from international collaborations or project-based work
To succeed in the role, you are flexible, goal-oriented, and have a structured working method.
Our Recruitment Process
This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work, and our client's request is that all questions regarding the position be sent to Academic Work.
We apply ongoing selection and will take down the ad when enough candidates have reached the final stages of the recruitment process. When applying, a CV is requested. A cover letter is not used as a selection method and therefore does not need to be attached. The recruitment process includes two selection tests: a personality test and a cognitive ability test. The tests are a tool to find the candidate with the highest potential for the position and to promote equality, diversity, and a fair recruitment process.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE COMPANY
Stadler is a Swiss train manufacturer with over 80 years of experience and a presence in more than 20 countries. In Sweden, we are about 300 employees and operate in several locations, with Tillberga outside Västerås being the hub for our modernization projects. We specialize in extending the lifespan of trains – and we do this with both technical expertise and craftsmanship precision.
